Looking for an outdoor wedding photographer in Washington State?
Searching for a wedding photographer in the Seattle area is downright overwhelming, there are just so many to choose from! I have put together this page to help you determine whether I would be a good fit for your wedding day.
Below are several examples of weddings and engagements I have had the pleasure of documenting, followed by a few questions to help you decide if we are a match, and a contact form you can use to get in touch with me.
This relaxed wedding in the woods was such a joy to photograph. Before the wedding the bride was more relaxed than anyone I’ve worked with, and the entire celebration came off effortlessly without an ounce of stress. There were lawn games galore, beautiful homemade cakes and a taco truck serving dinner. One of my favorite details were the little bags of coffee the couple gave as party favors. And when it rained? Well they just busted out umbrellas and kept on dancing.
These two know how to have a good time. Period. They did exactly as they felt, kissing throughout the ceremony, goofing around with each other in their vows, laughing and crying openly as they shared their hearts with each other and their community. They were married on the beach in Indianola, WA where the groom grew up and partied late into the night. And how about that purple hair?!
This beautiful and heartfelt wedding was a perfect expression of this couple and the community they hold dear. They made custom signs and banners to cover their yard, had friends playing music for the reception, and had a big potluck for dinner. In a beautiful show of fatherly love, the groom also pledged himself to the bride’s two daughters during the ceremony. So much love, so much heart!
These two playful love puppies tied the knot on Shipwreck Beach on the beautiful island of Kauai. They invited just 25 of their closest family and friends to stay the weekend and celebrate with them in style. The ceremony, performed by one of their best friends, included many tears and spontaneous bursts of laughter throughout. After the ceremony all 25 people took a party trolly to a restaurant where they shared delicious seafood, stories and a sunset.
This colorful and magical celebration took place on Whidbey Island, WA at a beautiful property in the woods known as Storyhouse. The wedding party danced out of the woods waving bright ribbons, and they passed out little jars of local honey as favors. There was a whole roast pig cooking all day, and all the guests brought a side dish to share. Lawn games, circle dancing and lots of laughter! The best part? The bride and groom were barefoot!
This playful duo tied the knot in Ashford, WA at the beautiful Copper Creek Inn. It was a stylish and laid-back affair, with blue and purple accents and stunning flowers by Celebration Florals – the bride’s mother’s company! The ceremony took place in a beautiful amphitheater surrounded by tall trees. On the dance floor everything from oldies to hip hop to Disney music played, and the wild dance party went well into the night.
This sunglasses clad couple had a small wedding at beautiful Lake Wenatchee in Central Washington. The ceremony took place on the beach with mountains as the backdrop and homemade flower crowns abounding. Afterward the party headed to Dirty Face Lodge, where music, NW beer and a colorful may pole awaited. The guests were sent home with bottles of home brew made by the bride and groom!
Questions to help you determine if I am the outdoor wedding photographer for you:
1. Your wedding style:
Will your wedding be more clean and fashion-inspired? Or will it be more rustic and quirky?
Obviously there is a broad spectrum between these extremes, but you can decide which your style is closer to. My style caters to couples planning a rustic wedding in any of Washington’s beautiful outdoor locations, from backyards to lakes to mountain tops.
2. What types of photos are most important to you?
Images of all the details? Styled formal portraits? Photos of all the moments in the day?
While I of course make sure to capture the details and take portraits of you and your families, my greatest focus is on authentic moments. I am a wedding photojournalist, and a moment junkie. The way people interact, and the little surprises are what I love capturing most. These sum up the emotions of the day, and these are what will bring a smile to your face when you look back at your photos years later. Click here to see my post about wedding photojournalism!
3. Is it important to you that every image you receive is edited?
I put a lot of thought into transforming your wedding images from good to great with digital editing software. This does not mean airbrushing, or adding trendy photo filters, this means doing careful editing to help you and yours look your natural best. My style is photojournalistic, so I like to represent your day the way it was rather than manipulating the images to be a certain style.
My wedding packages start at $2400, with most couples spending $2900-3800. Elopements start at $800, and I am happy to travel anywhere in Washington and no additional charge! Shoot me a message for a detailed price list and to check if your wedding date is available!
